I'm a tad bit nervous about the satellite dish on top of my house. I've been thinking a lot about it and if aliens ever attack, my feeling is that they may start with homes with satellites.
It's not that they would be picking up signals from the satellites or anything, it's just that they might be a little intimidated by them.
I mean, what if they thought that we shot lasers out of them to protect the earth or something. They kinda look like something that might shoot a laser out of the middle of it - at least from the movies I have seen.
So I have been thinking of disguising my dish as something alien friendly. Maybe I'll put a bunch of fake fruit and vegetables in it. That way, when the aliens come, they might think of it as a cornucopia of love and greetings, rather than a laser gun and they will spare us.
Either that, or I'll just get cable.

I don't know why but this story reminded me of something I saw last night on the news. They were talking about Google Earth and some guy from the UK who google earthed locations that had a certain tile on the roof. He then went and stole the tile from different locations and sold it. He earned over $100K US dollars before getting caught.
Maybe someone will do that with your satellite dish!
Abe have you ever thought about wrting a chilren's book. I think it is somehting you should consider.
Mel - I have given serious thought to it and I would love to do it. I just need a great idea - maybe this is the one?
