It took me a while, I'm that old. I loved Tears for Fears, though. I used to love Gary Coleman too when he was a cute kid. Kimberly, though, talk about annoying! xoRobyn
Speaking of ruling the world and the late 80's...I gave my church kids the line of a song to make actions for. The line was "Be true, be true & stand for the right!" The end of their "actions" resulted in the heil Hitler sign the Nazi's used. This totally made me giggle in the middle of church!!! Reading your graph and thinking of the Berlin wall coming down in 1989 brought the giggle right back.
You are so funny! You just made a whole slew of songs enter my mind and I thank you. I don't thank you for writing a post that would make me use the word "slew" in the comments, however.

Very true.
whatchyou talkin about?
1985. I had REALLY big hair, a husband and WAS ruling the world. No graph needed for me
Oh yeah! Now all have the music in my head for the rest of the evening...
Totally crushing on the Tears for Fears reference. I will be humming that song for the next 48 hours. Enjoy the day!

I'm in the green!
This perfectly sums up 1985!
I was two years old in 1985. And I still got the reference. I must have been a seriously advanced baby.

made me think of "everybody wants one!" ... remember? Better Off Dead? 198somthin'?
gimme my two dollars!
Why yes, I believe you got that one right! ;-) 85 was a good year..
Wait.. that song from Bowling for Soup has entered my brain..
Wow! It's been a while since I've heard this song. 1985 - a good year.
Gary Coleman...RIP
I think I was too busy getting married--I missed this show and the song so I am lost on this graph. Dang...I hate it when that happens.......
I think the 80's were stranger than the 60's, mostly because of the clothes, the music, the hair, hippies became yuppies - did I mention the clothes??
;-)

Did I get this? I think so, but you never know.
80's. SO before my time (cough cough)
Welcome to your life...
Now I have both those songs stuck in my head! How does one get TWO songs stuck in their head?!
Ahhh song worm. True but still...
I was 15 in '85. LOVED that Tears for Fears song (and even saw them in concert that year!!!) ;o)
Watched Different Strokes too. I still want to adopt kids because of it!
I believe I was, and always will be, in the red on this one.
Definitely Everybody Wants to... Also on the Real Genius soundtrack.
1985... ummm... I think I was still sporting my lilac sneakers and discovered boys... at which point I had to give up the lilac sneakers.
But the Facts of Life are all about you!
Now you just need to put big hair on that puppy... can't REALLY be an 80s graph without big hair...
This may or may not be before my time. Ha!
(I'm soooo in the green)
So clever! And I'm old enough to understand it.

I remember them both but Tears For Fears takes it for me.
Yes, as I recall that was about right.
