A Smorgasbord in a Cornucopia of Lunacy.

I have a bunch random of stuff I have wanted to blog about, but none of them really seem "post worthy", so I am therefore combining all non post worthy items into one large post.

4 non worthy post items may not equal one post worthy item, but let us pretend it does.

1. I mentioned that I wanted to grow out my hair to match Vampire Weekend's Ezra Koenig:

Unfortunately, I think that I am actually achieving more of a Rod Blagojevich look:

2.
I have this hairy cousin Tim that may actually have more hair on his arms than I do, but I doubt it. Anyhow, Tim and I are good friends as well as cousins. He happens to be a Fish Biologist in Las Vegas. (Contrary to popular belief, this does NOT mean he cleans the tanks at the Venetian and the Bellagio.)

As a Fish Biologist, Tim does a lot of aimless wandering of the desert and waterways. He is also a fantastic photographer. (I mean, he's good, but only because he read this post I did on how to take great pictures.) The other day, he took this very strange photo:

Finally, something disturbing enough to get the image of Enhanced Bedazzlement out of my head!

3. Forget the blossoms popping on apricot trees. The true sign that spring has arrived is the great Neil Diamond Sweet Carolining at the opening game. (For the record, Neil Diamond is the greatest singer/songwriter of ours or any generation. Also, there are two types of people in this world, those that like Neil Diamond and those who don't. I happen to love him.)

4. A little while ago, I had a poll that asked "What is the funniest show on television right now?"

The choices were:
The Office
Modern Family
30 Rock
Parks & Rec
How I Met Your Mother
The Big Bang Theory

However, quite a few people selected "other". I'd like to know - what hilarious show are you watching that I do not know about? I am always looking for new, great comedy.

Honestly, I don't think you want the height Rod has with his hair.

Always Sunny In Philadelphia is the only other show I would add to the list.

I added Community. Plus, if I had to choose between sleeping with Joel McHale, and The Hoff, it would be a very tough choice.

Ohmygoodness. Community is up there with Parks and Rec and The Office! That lineup is no seinfeld/friends, but it's not too bad at all! I didn't participate in that poll because I hadn't learned of your great Cheesiness yet, but I would have chosen the Office. How I Met Your Mother? Really? That's always the one I am mad at for still being on the air when I think about the fact that Arrested Development didn't survive. I'm disappointed in you if you love that show.

Hey, are you saying you're the third kind of person in the world? The ones who LOVE Neil Diamond? Cuz, I'm kinda in the lukewarm like category myself.

Rod's hair doesn't look that different from that teenybopper that I've never even heard of. I think you're on your way!

My husband couldn't believe they had Neil Diamond singing during the game. I quite like him, but at a baseball game? Random.

Stop blogging at school. I'm going to call your principal.

I heart Ezra Koenig & his goofy hair. Keep working on yours, it'll get there I'm sure.
I don't think I voted, but 30 Rock is far and above. But like another one of your readers I am still bitter that Arrested Development was axed. That will be my all time favorite show forever & ever. We watch an episode at least every other week, just to make sure the world is still round and keep us smiling.

Wow. Neil Diamond looks WAY different than he did in the 80's, which probably was the last time I saw him.

That picture your cousin took is very disturbing. He better never commit a crime where the police have to search his computer. That would raise suspision.

That's funny you compared your hair to Rod's because before I scrolled down to your photos, I thought the guy in the top photo looked like a young Rod Blagojevich.

Oh I'm with you on Modern Family and Big Band....I fear I'm a bit like Sheldon! ")

Congrats on hitting 101 followers! Didn't that mean something about you and a dumpster? Jus' sayin'.

And I think you could totally get the Rod look with a round brush and a hairdryer.

And I refuse to acknowledge that television has the first clue about humor since they cancelled Pushing Daisies. I mean, I watch those shows. I even laugh. But it's hollow and meaningless.

You hear me, TV? HOLLOW AND MEANINGLESS!!

I love random posts...I can't go past Little Britain for comedy...

I heart Neil!! His CD's are what my dad would use to wake us up Saturday mornings to start cleaning.

And, I love the Office, 30 Rock, and my new obsession is The Marriage Ref! It makes my life seem so normal :o)

Not a Neil Diamond fan....sorry!

You can't beat Rod's hair--sorry. You can keep trying though!

Modern Family--love it!

I love me some Neil. Bam, Bah, Dah! Good times never felt so good.

I'm pretty unoriginal. The only comedy I watch religiously is Glee. And sometimes Two and a Half Men.

Teachinfourth said...

Neil Diamond…rock on. I also loved the 'What About Bob' reference as well.

The Office. No more needs to be said.

I've been thinking of doing something along these lines. I've got lots of little bits that I can't expand into a whole post on their own.

Like there's a limit on how long a post has to be or something.. as if I would type a short one and blogger would just go "Nope. I'm not putting that up. Add more content"

Anyway, I missed that poll but Big Bang is easily the funniest show on TV right now.

30 Rock is second.

Copyboy - Very true. I don't want his scaly skin or his lack of morals either.

Robin - Oh no, I really look that much like him? You look very much like Gloria and that is not a bad thing. Me looking like Rod is a bad thing. Time to cut the hair.

Ike - AFV is only funny when the videos don't seem staged which is like 50% of the time it seems. And I could dig it if they ever chose the funniest videos to win. They always pick the worst three!

Justin - I have heard wonders about Sunny in Phili. I will definitely start watching. I have an opening now that Flight of the Conchords has been canceled.

**FYI everyone - Flight of the Conchords WAS the funniest show on TV.

Kristina - We watched the first 6 or so episodes of Community and kinda lost interest. I regained it a bit with that Batman episode. I might have to give it another shot.

FabuLeslie - I had never heard of a lukewarm Diamond fan. Odd. I really don't love How I Met Your Mother, but I will watch it if nothing else is on. I do find Jason Segal to be hilarious 80% of the time and that is primarily why I watch.

Beth - You have been a very kind blogging friend. Thank you for my first ever award. I shant forget you and good luck at reaching 100, which I imagine will be soon.

Venessa - LOL! Well, it was a short day and I had already done about 80% of this post at home, but you caught me.

Erica - I thought you might come and say something about the beloved Ezra. I have a ways to go, but it might get there. Not sure what Cathi is going to think though.

Lori - Ha ha! Let's hope Ezra never goes the way of Rod. Hey and welcome back to commenting!

ModernMom - Big Bang is not my favorite, but Sheldon is the best character on TV right now, hands down.

DeNae - Ok, I need to check out Pushing Daisies I suppose. And honestly, your comments are always FUNNIER than my original posts!

Farmer's wife - Hey, did they show Flight of the Conchords in Australia? I have to imagine that they did.

Mary - Your dad and mine. He got me hooked on Neil too. As for the Marriage Ref, I watched one episode and Christy Alley totally dominated every second of it. I hate Christy Alley! Is she on every episode? Cause no way I can stomach it if she is.

Queenie - Not offended.

Unemployed - Unemployed people usually like Neil. I think it is because he sings about America.

Bossy Betty - Rod's going to have nothing on my hair in the end. That did not sound right.

Teresa - Well, Glee is actually a pretty funny show. There is some great comedy writing in that show. Like "Did you know that dolphins are just gay sharks?"

Teachinfourth - You are the ONLY one that caught that What About Bob reference. Or at least the only one that admits to it.

ScoMan - Yes, I know. I hate these unwritten rules of blogging that I place on myself. I just don't want to load everyone's readers up with 4 posts of garbage. Hey, you can answer this - did they show Flight of the Conchords in Australia?

You are hilarious.

I want to marry Ezra and his Vampire friends.

tammy said...

I love some randomness.

Nah, no Community. Ignore those comments. It's not nearly as funny as the shows you listed.

I was going to bust you on blogging at school, too. I have also wondered about that when I see your comments on my blog during school hours. Of course, we do have an hour time difference between us, so I'm sure that's it.

Macey said...

You are the 2nd blog to mention Vampire Weekend, so that officially means I have to go check it out.
And yeah, you DO rock the Blagojavich look with the hair. :)

Did you know the word "smörgåsbord" is Swedish and means a table full of good stuff?Four nonworthy post items definately equal on worthy post item - you nailed it! :)
Even though I am very glad to hear you no longer have your head full of the Enhanced Bedazzlement...that picture is very disturbing to me however...
... Oh, and by the way, your hair looks fine. :)
As for the best TV-comedy: I'll have to go with Modern Family. They just started airing that here in Sweden last Friday. Seems promising. /Jo.

I thought there were only 2 type of people:
1. Those who love Neil Diamond.
2. Those who really, really, really love Neil Diamond.

Modern Family! Seriously funny.

Two and a Half Men is the funniest show on television right now but it's not appropriative for wee ones.

OOOOOOO, it *is* Rod Junior! Now we know how you got all the followers! In exchange for favors! You crafty devil you! :)
