Saturday Graph: Disney Princess Loneliness = Desperation

* I was planning on doing the video today of my begging on the street for my 600 followers.  That has been postponed to Monday because of inclement weather.  I'm not going to go out and beg in the snow.  What am I, a real hobo?

*Also, I just want to send out a shout out to my Sister-In-Law's new blog, "Oatmeal Kisses".  She is a former Kindergarten teacher and this blog is great for stay at home moms to help them plan calendars, plans and activities to do with your young ones.  Visit and follow and I am sure she will do the same for you. So very true with the Disney women.

Or Ariel giving up her voice to get the guy (quite possibly my husband's fondest wish).

"Spoken" like a true teacher who analyzes movies as much as I do! Bravo for pointing out the ridiculousness of those princess's relationships!
By the way, your Silly Saturday Photo Caption prize will be sent out on Monday! I'm sure you know that your name has been added to the Silly Saturday Hall of Fame in my sidebar too! You will be forever immortalized! Heehee!

I think Snow White is the biggest tramp.

This is one of my favorite Saturday Graphs.

Cindarella gave it up for a guy with a foot fetish.
They really need a show - The Real Housewives of Disney. I bet there would be some real drama there....

Have you noticed that most every Disney character has a dead mother. What is up with Disney and their relationship with the female character. Something to graph about next time.

I think all of the Disney female lead characters look the same. They only change the hair and eye color and outfit. Congrats on the 660. I'm looking forward to the video.

My favorite graph! Yet another reason to keep letting Chloee watch Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (old version) - cause there is NOTHING weird about that show at all.

I REALLY appreciate this post, Abe. I'm totally into debunking the whole fairytale thing. (I just interviewed the Handsome Prince, and he wasn't all that.)
Will check out your sis-in-law's place.

Hey when you go to beg on the streets, I want you to use a sign that I saw one of the panhandlers in Alaska use. It said now accepting Visa and Mastercard. Serious, if I wasn't driving at the time, I would have stopped and taken a picture of it. Just too funny to wonder if he was for real!

Abe,

I don't think the word "kindergarten" on its own should be capitalized. Sorry to correct the teacher, but I've been waiting my whole life for this.

Thank you.

Your friend,
LG!

Disney has some realy strange princesses that do some pretty strange things.
Take care and have a blessed weekend.

I never realized how desperate those princesses were until now.
Can't wait to see that video!

Abe, thanks for the shout out! I don't know if I should be flattered or not being put in the same company as the princesss. But seriously, thanks man!

What a bunch of tramps! (I'm talking about trampolines.)

I'm always looking for craft ideas for things to do with my kids so thanks for the link!

Funnily enough I also covered Disney Princesses this weekend but I was coming more from the lesbian angle than the desperation. Sadly this whole life thing is really not panning out for them the way they planned when they were young. ( what dressing up outfit did a 5 year old Cinderella wear? !)

LOL! I wish my girls were old enough to appreciate this graph!
Too funny!

This just makes me wanna see Tangled even MORE.

And don't forget Ariel giving up her voice. You can tell that's a cartoon written by a man...no woman would EVER give up her voice. LOL

So this seems like a good place to ask. What was Pocahontas? She never did get a fancy dress. I'm so confused. Disney does that to me.......

apparently, being raised stuck in a castle is not good for morale.

Good point on here. Also makes me 100% glad I have boys.

Part two? You missed my favorite princess...

now patiently waiting for the video :-)

Too bad real women aren't that desperate.

Ariel sold her voice to be the man of her dreams. I know there are others.

Those poor princesses. But hey, they all have great hair and small waists, not that I'm jealous or anything.

Aw, the inclement weather. It's make my polar bear like girth reemerge.

Oh - this is GREAT. I am sending this link to my FEMINIST daughter who hates ANYTHING to do with princesses!

I love these "Have to read this out loud to my husband" posts! Hilarious! My favorite is Rapunzel.

Those are awesome! I'm somewhat anti-Disney (I know, they'll probably kick me out of the Relief Society for that one) but my kids have seen the films.

It's a wonder us girls turned out ok, given our so called "role models" growing up.

How bout, Sleeping Beauty kissing a complete stranger and then marrying him!

Headed over to the Oatmeal blog...

Looking forward to your video post.

Haven't you ever heard of thermal underwear?

Melinda said...

Yeah Disney really is messed up, just goes to show you if you just put a crown on someone and they sing, it must be kid friendly! Right? I just made that up and it isn't nearly as funny as I thought it would be, but my head hurts and I don't want to think of something better. Sorry.

Hart Johnson said...

It's about time somebody called Disney out on their ways! *snort*

I was in Park City Utah from Thursday to Sunday. It was rainy and snowy in Park City. I don't blame you for not doing the video yet. Brrrr!! Great place though. I wouldn't mind going back in the Summer.

As usual, this post was funny!

I'm glad I'm a queen and not a princess.

Emmy said...

Yes those Disney princesses are quite the role models.

At least Flynn has the looks to go with his porn name. (ow ow ow! ;)

And Belle, well, my friend's hubby made a good point..."Stockholm Syndrome" anyone????

P.S. Should I be concerned that I am beginning to relate more and more to these princesses?

I cook and clean and mop up after a bunch of little people, I sing songs at random, read books incessantly, and dream of running away into the arms of my own prince....hmm...yeah. I guess loneliness does that to ya!
