A video Christmas card from Cheeseboy and his sons. WARNING: You are going to need the tissues.

Please excuse the quality of the video, but do not excuse the awesomeness of my singing.

FYI: I HATE this song and make fun of it constantly, so it is okay to say as much in the comments.

  1. Merry Christmas Cheeseboy and family.

  2. I commented and then read it and realized it was my classic sarcasm that might be misinterpreted. Let's try again, shall we?

    Do you hire out??

And that little cutie on the couch that did the background snapping was my favorite....

  3. Merry Christmas to the bravest man I know...

  4. it's the hat. that's what makes your version of this classic song so special. and the floating shoes.

Hope you're having a jolly holiday Cheese Boy.

  5. shoot - I wish I could hang that on the wall with all my real life Christmas Cards - the neighbors would be SO jealous!!!

should I admit now that this is the most made fun of song at our house this season? if that offends, let's just pretend I do no such thing... and certainly don't read a book review I did last year which may or may not have poked fun at this song :)

  6. I heard somewhere that the sign of a good singer was that they closed their eyes when they sang ballads! LOL Great song...I love the dancing shoes :)

  7. This is the best singing Christmas card I've ever heard. In fact, it's the only one I've ever heard and it touched my heart *sniff*.

I'm amazed that you could reach that high note at the end.

  8. Thank you Cheeseboy. From the snapping of your little one, to the shoe model behind you, to your (ahem) singing, you all did a great job. (dabbing tears from my eyes)

Yes, a stupid song, but loved the boots! If I met Jesus wearing those boots, I'd be..well, I'd be in heaven.

  9. Oh, my. I'm overcome with emotion here! But I really want to hug that little finger-snapper.

You really have to submit a photo for the Wrestling With Retirement Bloggers' Swimsuit edition. It won't be nearly as humiliating as that video--plus, you can remain anonymous! lol

  10. Happy holidays to you and your family! That was a great video! It looks like you have a couple of willing co-stars to help you!

  11. My cheeks hurt from laughing you crazy cheese-singer! Nice visual effects:) Truly pulled at the heart strings...

  12. You've got two cute kids!

    I won't comment on the singing! ;)

  13. I felt a tear come to my eye for a moment there…

Man, you sure do bring the Christmas Spirit, don't you?

    ReplyDelete
  14. My Christmas is now complete.

  15. I'm verklempt!
Thanks for the lovely singing Christmas card!

Oh crap! I was so engrossed in your video that I forgot about the cookies and burned them!

  16. You are so right, I'm glad you picked this song to ridicule. It is absolutely the worst Christmas song out there. I also do not like Paul Mccartney's, Wonderful Christmastime.

    A very talented Cheeseboy family!

  17. I'm not even sure what to say about that little piece of work but I loved the hat and the bobbing of shoes in the background!

  18. I like the way you colour your song and you are like a bright light in this dark world of stuff, but no honey, no--oh shut up Simon.

  19. Very impressive ... uh not with your singing of course, but your boy in front sure has rhythm and the other one actually has mastered wearing shoes on his hands! Fun stuff. W.C.C.

  20. A shoe ballet? Thank you for that. And the snapper? I might need to borrow him for my next whistling performance.

    ReplyDelete
  21. That was awesome!!!! Thanks for the song! :o))))))))))))))))))))

  22. You have earned my respect.

...and I want you to know, I HATE that song, but I watched it all for you, man.

    =]

  23. I had never heard that song before and I don't feel that I have gained any advantage by now being exposed to it. I appreciate the great efforts of yourself and (fantastic) supporting actors. However, I would appreciate it if you could now make like Elvis and leave the building taking your shoes with you (maybe next time you could try dressing like Mariah in santa suit to see how that goes down - 2 little elves to accompany you?!)

  24. YOU ARE KILLING ME. hahahahahahahahahaahahahahaaaa

    ReplyDelete
  25. BAHAHAHA! The alternate ending is quite genius. Also, the floating dancing shoes and the cutie patootie finger snapper make it all worth watching.

  26. ***shuts out the lights, holds lighter up in the air and slowly waves arm back and forth***

***sniff*** That was awesome man, just awesome. - G

  27. Why can't I see this??? I was good all year long (except February 18th)...sniffle

  28. It just came up...

It was a Christmas Miracle Charlie Brown!!!

    sniffle, snort

  29. Cheeseboy. You are so awesome! I love how your boys are getting into it too, snapping, and making the different shoes dance in the background.

    ReplyDelete
  30. The snapping fingers, the shoes swaying in the background, that high note at the end...tears I tell you, tears!

    ReplyDelete
  31. You should have said "earplugs" instead of "tissue" in your warning.
    ;-)

    Happy Holidays!
    (p.s. your kids are hilarious!)

    ReplyDelete
  32. As much as I adore you and your family, that was perhaps the most painfully long vlog I've ever seen. What a horrible song. :) I appreciate all the emotion you poured into it, along with your kids' precious back-up snapping and shoe dancing.
Merry Christmas to you all. xo

  33. Yes, what Robyn said. LOL

Awesomeness in a vlog. Painful song.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I was expecting some howling.....instead, I got someone who can actually sing! Merry Christmas to you and yours! (But why did I think you were Jewish?)

    ReplyDelete
  35. Is it possible that the real singer stole the song from YOU? Thanks for making fun of that song, because I can't listen to Christmas music on the radio BECAUSE of that song....

    ReplyDelete
  36. Not sure if I understand, but I'll just say thanks for stopping by, and great idea for the WondaWedge. lol Your boys are so cute. Love the finger snapping youngster on the couch with you keeping you on beat & the not now with the shoes was hysterical! Merry Christmas!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Merry Aussie Christmas. Hope yours is awesome. Mine will be awesome if you vote for me here..on page 2 under Farmers Wifey. Thanks greatly!!

  38. Love yer wee boy snappin his fingers to the beat.

    how cute is he?

    ReplyDelete
  39. I have no doubt that your boys were just as excited to participate as you were to make it. Great snapping from Calder...except when he pauses to give you a quizzical look. Love it!

    ReplyDelete
  40. Now that I've wiped the tears from my eyes (from laughing hysterically), I can comment objectively: it was a little pitchy, you'll have to work on that. Change the hat to a pull-on knit cap, and get a pair of red high heels. I think Simon Cowell will agree with me.

P.S. - I didn't know you could hit the Mariah Carey notes!

    ReplyDelete
  41. Do your boys know they don't have a normal father? My girls, teenagers, are just starting to come to the conclusion that I am not your average bear mama.

The synchronized shoe dance was just awesome and could there be a cuter finger snapper? If I got some Christmas boots like that, I would go to Jesus with a smile on my face. Your wife has great taste in shoes, assuming and hoping they are hers and not yours.

Thanks for the Christmas vlog, Cheese. But I'm not really happy that I now have that crap song playing in my head. Time to crank up my iPod.

    ReplyDelete
  42. It sure brought the Christmas spirit...

    ReplyDelete
  43. I've been talking about the worst Christmas songs the last couple of days, and here you are singing my very most hated Christmas song!! Thanks, you totally made my day!!!

    (TWO WEIRDS!!! HAHAHAHAHA LOVE IT!!!)

    ReplyDelete
  44. HAHA!! I don't know what's funnier the Joe Cocker impression, snapping son #1 or shoe son #2. LOVE IT!!!

    ReplyDelete
  45. Oh my gosh - this almost tops the Neil Diamond song you did for your Creative Arts final, several years ago...you are funnier than ever!
    thanks, Heidi

    ReplyDelete
  46. Love the dancing shoes. Love the little boys. The singing, well I smiled lots and lots and turned the volume down a bit. :o)
    Take care and God Bless!!

    ReplyDelete
  47. Wow, you really like to get into character, huh? Love the supporting cast, actually, they kinda' stole the show..

So you are adding a bit of ham to the cheese image (grin)? Thanks for the giggle.

    ReplyDelete
  48. LOL..i love the dancing shoes in the background...
You and I need to get together for a dancing/singing video sometime and post it on our blogs...lol.
    hilarious.

    Merry Christmas Cheeseboy!

    ReplyDelete
  49. I love that movie and thanks for putting little funny spin on it.I will remember it when watching it this Christmas and maybe I won't need so many tissues.

The finger-snapping was A+ and the shoes background ditto.

    ReplyDelete
  50. WoW! What can I say!!
    Bahaha!!!
    CUTE BOYS!!
    Merry Christmas Cheeseboy & Fam!!

    ReplyDelete
  51. Ha ha, I love the shoe in the background! Merry X-mas to you too :)

    ReplyDelete
  52. I'm shocked you haven't recorded a Xmas album with Mariah Carey yet!

    ReplyDelete
  53. Your wife and children are so lucky! LOL

    ReplyDelete
  54. Come here and do another one with me? Please? We can totally do a teacher one!

    ReplyDelete
  55. Oh...where to start?

The boys? Absolutley fabulous. Lincoln's shoe show was the icing on the cake.

    The hat? Perfect touch?
Facial expressions? Emotions well done without being overplayed.

Westland T-shirt? Shout out to the home dogs is always necessary.

    I think you've got a career. Really I do!

    ReplyDelete
  56. I think the snapping of your youngest was the best part! At the end there I almost thought you were Adam Sandler. Awesome! I'm guessing your wife wasn't home when you made this! LOL

    ReplyDelete
  57. You have REALLY got his voice down!! And that hat really added to the overall effect. I was laughing out loud about it all, but your son behind the couch was really cracking me up.

    ReplyDelete
  58. HIlarious. I love your son in the background. Too funny. And you have that voice down!

    ReplyDelete
  59. So my mother sent me a video of a song called, "Where's the line to see Jesus?" that is actually more vomitous than even Christmas Shoes. I think I'm going to post it on my blog, just to keep with the tone you've set over here. That's right, CB, it's all your fault.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Hey..Psst. Cheeseboy I linked to your blog today on today's post. I might need to borrow that Barney costume of yours....
    lol.

    ReplyDelete
  61. I like your interpretation of this "classic". The kids held their own too. :)

    ReplyDelete
  62. Something about this is disturbing. I'm just not sure which part that is. ;) Merry Christmas to you and your family!
